VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team was swept by Dominican University in a NACC doubleheader Saturday. The Eagles dropped the opener, 20-8, before falling in game two, 19-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In game one, the Eagles trailed 5-1 before a wild fourth inning that saw both teams score six runs. The Stars crossed the plate six times with only one hit in the top half of the fourth thanks to several free passes issued by the Eagles staff. After the top half of the inning, the Eagles trailed 11-1.
- Edgewood College would get back in it with six runs on seven hits in the bottom half, including a two-RBI double by
Kyle Semrad and a two-RBI triple from
Ryan Fields.
- The Stars controlled the game from that point, scoring twice in the sixth, three times in the seventh, and four more in the ninth. The Eagles fell in the opener despite matching the Stars with 16 hits in the contest.

Max Orput finished the game with four hits to pace the Eagles offense, while Fields and
Adam Cairo each tallied three.
Alex Prindle and Semrad each added two hits, each player doubling as well.
- In game two, the Eagles struck first in the bottom of the first but Dominican would score seven runs over its next three at-bats to take a 7-1 lead. Edgewood College made it 7-4 with a three-run fifth but the Stars ran away with it from there, picking up the 19-4 victory.
- The Eagles added 10 more hits in game two, three from leadoff batter
Bryan Sternig and two more from Orput.
Paul Cappetta added two hits, while Prindle doubled again in the second contest.
