HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis Team finished off its 2019 spring trip on a winning note, easily taking down Allegheny College Wednesday morning. The Eagles swept doubles play and won five-of-six in singles action for the 8-1 win, finishing the trip with a 3-1 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The No. 3 doubles pairing of Haley Brooks and Hayley Nau had the most convincing of the three doubles wins for the Eagles (15-4). Brooks and Nau rolled to an 8-2 victory. Marissa Wilson and Alicia Picard posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles and the No. 1 pairing of Sydney Verbauwhede and Kai Heineman netted an 8-6 win.

- All five of the singles wins for Edgewood College came in straight sets. Brooks continued her impressive showing Wednesday, not dropping a point in a 6-0, 6-0 No. 5 singles win. Picard dropped just one point at No. 3 singles, netting a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

- Heineman joined Brooks and Picard in completing a 2-0 day for Edgewood College as the freshman gained a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.

- Lydia Dean and Abbie Groppe each added straight-set wins for the Eagles, Dean a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 4 singles and Groppe a 6-2, 6-4 winner at the No. 6 position.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles went 3-1 on their spring trip and now own a 15-4 overall record. They continue to take aim at the program record for wins in a season (19 in 2013-14). The Eagles have seven matches remaining on the regular season slate, and also have the NACC Tournament on May 5 as they attempt to rewrite the record books.

- The Eagles will celebrate Senior Day in their only home match of the spring season Saturday against Cornell. The match is set to start at 3 p.m. at Hitters Sportsplex in Middleton.
