HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Edgewood College Men's Tennis team saw both its doubles teams pick up wins Tuesday in a non-conference spring trip match against Messiah College. The Eagles, who dropped three matches via default, fell in three of the four singles matches played, falling 6-3 against the Falcons.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The No. 1 duo of
Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier and
Sabastion Seeger netted an 8-3 win in their doubles contest. The win moves that duo to 4-5 in doubles play this season.
- It was a close match at No. 2 doubles, but
Jackson Venske and
Tommy Ebben survived the tough test with an 8-7 (7-3) win. The win was the second of the season for the pairing.
- Ebben won his No. 4 singles match for the second-straight day, moving his singles mark to 5-5 in his rookie season. He needed a third-set tiebreaker to gain the win, netting a 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) victory.
- Messiah picked up wins in the other three singles matches played. Dornhagen Schradermeier went to a tiebreaking set at No. 1 singles, but ultimately fell, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6).

- The Eagles will close their 2019 spring trip tomorrow against Oswego State. The match is set to start at 11:30 a.m. eastern.
