HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team began a four-match trip in South Carolina against Stevenson University Monday morning. The Eagles opened the trip on a winning note, taking down the Mustangs, 7-2, for the team's 13th win over its last 14 matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (13-3) began the day with wins in two of three doubles matches. The No. 3 team of
Jaclyn Swift and
Marissa Wilson rolled to an 8-1, while the No. 2 team of
Alicia Picard and
Kai Heineman netted an 8-2 victory.
- Heineman, Picard, and Wilson all completed 2-0 days on the court in gaining singles wins as well. Overall, the Eagles won 5-of-6 singles matches to complete the 7-2 victory.
- For the three players who finished the day 2-0, Heineman gained a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 singles spot. Picard contributed a 6-4, 6-1 win, and Wilson had little trouble at No. 5 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2.

Alyssa Carew posted a straight sets 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 singles position and
Lydia Dean cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles for Edgewood College.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The match was the fourth of the spring season for Edgewood College, who posted a 10-2 overall record during the fall portion of its schedule, including a perfect 10-0 conference mark. The Eagles are 3-1 in the spring with wins over Northwestern (Minn.), St. Norbert, and now, Stevenson.
- The Eagles will play three more matches on its spring trip, two on Tuesday, and one Wednesday.

- Edgewood College will battle Messia College at The College of Wooster tomorrow. The first of those matches is against Messiah at noon eastern. The Eagles will face Wooster at 5 p.m. eastern.
