Eagles offense comes alive against Regents on Senior Day

MADISON, Wis. - In front of packed Edgedome, The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team put together a stellar performance on senior day, beating Rockford University 94-49. The lone senior Allison Gordon started her 91st game for the Eagles, finishing the day with seven rebounds. The Eagles were on point on both ends of the floor, scoring the most points in a half this season (57 points), forcing 15 turnovers, and out-rebounding the Regents 44-30.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (14-8, 11-6 NACC) got off to a quick start in the first period against Rockford University (2-20, 2-16 NACC). The Eagles went into the second period with a 21-point lead (33-12), shooting 73.7 percent (14-for-19) from the floor and 73.3 percent (3-for-4) from outside the arc.
- The second period was much of the same, as the Eagles held the Regents to just 30 percent shooting in the second period. Just two minutes into the second period, Edgewood College went on a 13-0 run, capped off by a fastbreak layup from Diamond Pikulyk to put the Eagles up 41-12.
- Going into the locker room, Edgewood College was shooting 73 percent from the floor with 30 points in the paint, and 24 points coming from the Eagles bench.
- Edgewood College defense held the Regents to just 14 percent shooting in the third period, as the Eagles took a 47-point lead (79-32) with 38 seconds left on the clock.
- Alyssa Lemirande led the Eagles offense with a team-best 19 points, adding seven assists. Mady Pahl (14 points), Lexi Walter (14 points) and Maryn Ferron (12 points) also scored in double-figures. Pahl finished the contest with a career-best in points and rebounds (7).
- Pikulyk pulled down a season-best six rebounds on the afternoon. Brook Lonigro continued to distribute the ball well for the Eagles, coming away with a team-best nine assists overall.
- Overall, 50 of the Eagles points came in the paint. Additionally, Edgewood College shot well from long, connecting on 8-of-15 three pointers (53 percent).

THE OPPOSITION
- The Regents offense was led by Linzy Keller who finished the game with a team-high 11 points, and Nicole Silvers who came away with 10 points. Both Keller and Silvers collected seven rebounds in the contest. Silvers distributed the ball well, coming away with a team-high four assists.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will head to River Forest, Ill. on Monday to take on Dominican University. The NACC contest is set to begin at 8:00 p.m.
