Eagles edged by Concordia Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team went back-and-forth with Concordia University Wisconsin in a thrilling NACC matchup Wednesday night. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the host Falcons were able to hold on for a 75-71 victory, putting the Eagles in a likely must-win scenario heading into Saturday's regular season finale at league-leading Wisconsin Lutheran.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes and neither team built much of an advantage Tuesday night. It was the Eagles who made the first run, building the game's largest lead at seven with 3:42 to go in the first half.

- The Eagles needed to use their tremendous depth, particularly in the opening half when six players were whistled for two fouls. Edgewood College received production from all over, including Diamond Pikulyk who came off the bench for a team-best 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

- Concordia Wisconsin built a game-best six-point lead (66-60) with 5:08 to go in the game, but Edgewood College responded with a 7-0 run to take a 67-66 advantage with 2:39 left in the contest. Abby Shane started the run with a 3-point make and Pikulyk gave the Eagles the lead with an old fashioned 3-point play.

- The Falcons answered on their next possession as Clara Chambers buried a 3-pointer, putting the Eagles in a two-point deficit. A layup for CUW pushed the Eagles deficit to four, before Pikulyk made a pair of free throws with 48 seconds left to make the score 71-69.

- Baylee Barker of the Falcons, who finished with a game-high 27 points, knocked down 4-of-4 from the free throw line down the stretch to put the game away as Edgewood College couldn't escape with the NACC road win.

- Alyssa Lemirande and Lexi Walter each tallied 12 points as Edgewood College controlled the paint Tuesday, outscoring CUW 46-22 in the lane. Pikulyk's 18 also helped the Eagles bench outscore the Falcons, 37-24.
