MILWAUKEE, WIS. - The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team fell in their final regular season matchup of the season to Wisconsin Lutheran College, the number one team in the NACC. The Eagles defense held strong throughout the contest, only allowing the Warriors to shoot 37 percent (20-for-54) from the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the first 10 minutes of action, Edgewood College (14-11, 11-9 NACC) led 10-7, as Abby Shane scored four of the Eagles points. The Eagles defense forced four Wisconsin Lutheran turnovers in a strong defensive period.
- The Eagles largest lead came with just seven minutes remaining in the second period, as a jumper from Lexi Walter put Edgewood College up 17-9 capping off a 13-2 run for the Eagles.
- Wisconsin Lutheran owned a six point lead going into the locker room (27-21) and continued to shoot well through the third period, dropping 15 points. The Eagles held on, scoring 12 in the third period, and keeping the Warriors close going into the fourth period.
- The Warriors proved why they are the number one team in the NACC, remaining steady through the fourth period and taking their biggest lead of the contest (13 points) with just under a minute remaining.
- Walter led the Eagles in scoring, dropping ten points and adding nine rebounds in the contest. Maryn Ferron (9-points) and Abby Shane (8-points) complimented Walter from the floor for Edgewood College. Shane also distributed a team-best five assists.
- Â The Eagles were impressive from the charity stripe, shooting perfectly (9-for-9).
THE OPPOSITION
- On senior day, Jen Dowden did not disappoint, leading the Warriors with a team-high 22 points. Kelly Tramburg also scored in double-figures with 10 points, adding a team-best eight rebounds. Lexi Reinke dished out five assists for the Warriors.

- The Eagles will wait to see if their 11-9 NACC record will be enough for a NACC tournament berth. The first round of the NACC Tournament is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February. 19.Â
