MADISON, Wis. - The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team put together a massive 78-29 team win over Rockford University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles couldn't be stopped on either side of the ball, earning their 10th straight win and fifth straight NACC win on the season. Abby Shane and Alyssa Lemirande both scored in double-figures in a contest that saw scoring from 12 different Eagles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (10-0, 5-0 NACC) got off to a quick 22-11 lead through the first period. The Eagles connected on 9-of-19 from the floor and an impressive 3-of-4 from long range. Despite an 11-point lead, the Eagles offense gave up their most points to Rockford University (1-8, 0-6 NACC) in the first period.
- The Eagles went into the locker room with a solid 23-point lead off a 16-4 second period effort. Edgewood College shut down the Rockford offense, holding them to just 20 percent shooting from the floor (2-of-10) in the second period.
- The Eagles solid defense continued to roll past the break, as Edgewood College only allowed the Regents to score six points in the third frame and eight points in the fourth period. Overall the Eagles held the Regents to just 27.1 shooting from the floor and 5.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc, with the only long ball scoring coming in the first period.
- Offense never let up for Edgewood College. The Eagles saw 33.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc in the both the third and fourth periods. In addition, the Eagles shot 43.2 percent (16-of-37) from the floor coming out of the break.
- Shane led the Eagles offense with 15 points. The junior went 6-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. Alyssa Lemirande also finished in double-figures with 12 points and added four rebounds and two assists on the afternoon.
- McKenna Reichling, Lexi Walter, and Riley Larson contributed to the rebounding game for the Eagles. Reichling finished with six boards, while Walter and Larson each pulled down five. Bria Lemirande shared the ball well, collecting five assists in the win.
- On the afternoon every Edgewood College player saw time on the floor. An impressive 15 Eagles contributed to the 43 boards, 12 contributed to the 78 points, and 10 different players combined for 24 assists. In addition, 35 of the Eagles 78 points came off the bench.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the best start in program history, the Eagles now tie the 1976-77 Men's Basketball team for the best start in school history at 10-0.
- Junior Riley Larson posted two season-highs scoring eight points and pulling down five rebounds. Larson was a steady part of the Eagles defense coming out of the break.
THE OPPOSITION
- Linzy Keller led the Regents offense with 12 points (5-of-12). Neve Yerk managed a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks on the afternoon.

- The Eagles will take some time off and return in the new year to face Wisconsin Lutheran on January 4. Tip-off in Milwaukee, Wis. is set to begin at 4:15 p.m.
