Eagles split matches to conclude season at NACC/MWC Crossover

DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team defeated Lawrence and fell against St. Norbert, both by 3-0 scores, to end its 2019 season Saturday at the NACC/MWC Crossover. The event was hosted by St. Norbert College.

EAGLES 3, LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY 0
- The Eagles started the day by making quick work of Lawrence. The Eagles won the first set 25-23 before dominating the final two sets, both by scores of 25-12.

- Mackenzie Doherty put on a show against the Vikings, collecting 19 kills in the three-set win. Doherty hit .586 for the match. Doherty also led all players with 10 digs, finishing the match with a double-double.

- Brittany Sager collected 20 assists in the win, while Taylor Salmon added 12.  

- As a team, the Eagles hit a season-best .381 for the match. Edgewood College also posted eight blocks with Bridget Daniels tallying four block assists.

ST. NORBERT COLLEGE 3, EAGLES 0
- The first two sets against the Green Knights came down to the wire with St. Norbert escaping in each set. The Eagles fell 27-25 in the opening set and 26-24 in the second set before St. Norbert completed the sweep at 25-18 in the third.

- Doherty again led the offensive attack with 15 kills, this time hitting .211 for the match.

- Ella Carpenter tallied a career-best 19 assists in the match for the Eagles with Sager adding 15. Amanda Meister and Sarah Uczen led the defensive effort with 17 and 12 digs, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles end their 2019 season with an 11-21 record. Edgewood College went 7-5 in conference play this fall.
