Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Cougars second-half penalty kick drops Eagles Saturday

MADISON, Wis.  – In a match that saw outstanding efforts from both teams, a second-half penalty kick for Concordia University Chicago was the difference as the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team fell 1-0 Saturday at Breese Stevens Field. The results has eliminated the Eagles from NACC Tournament contention.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The penalty kick happened in the 59th minute and was scored by Samantha Wozniak for the Cougars.

- The Eagles (6-12-1, 4-7) finished the contest with just four total shots, two in each half. Just one of those shots went on goal, while CUC totaled six shots on goal with Grace Wildeboer securing five saves.

- Shannon Kaufmann and Maddy Solder each tallied two shots to pace the Eagles offense. Wozniak of Concordia Chicago led all players with five shots, two of those on goal.

- Concordia Chicago split time between two keepers with Kassie Silenzi getting the win after entering for the second half. Aleksia Vranjes got the start and made the lone save for Concordia Chicago.

- Edgewood College will close its 2019 season Wednesday with a trip to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Kickoff in Milwaukee is set for 7 p.m.
