MILWAUKEE – The Edgewood College Women's Soccer team ended its 2019 season on a winning note. The Eagles went on the road and picked up a 5-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College Wednesday night at Warrior Soccer Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (7-12-1, 5-7 NACC) tallied the first five goals of the contest before Wisconsin Lutheran added a late score.
Ashley Siegel and
Carolyn Evers struck in the first half for Edgewood College with
Shannon Kaufmann and
Aubrey Tarmann picking up assists.
- Siegel would add her second goal of the match and seventh goal of the season in 55th minute to make the score 3-0. She ended the season as the Eagles leading goal scorer.
- Senior
Paige Baillies had a memorable moment in her final collegiate match, scoring her first career collegiate goal on a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
Anna Fischer made the score 5-0 with her third goal of the year in the 81st minute.

Grace Wildeboer finished the contest with seven saves in picking up her seventh win of the season. The Eagles outshot Wisconsin Lutheran, 19-11.
- The match was the final one of the season for the Eagles under first-year head coach
Derek Helmer. Edgewood College improved its win total by four from last season to this year, including winning three more NACC matches in 2019 as well.
