MADISON, Wis. – On a rainy night at Breese Stevens Field, the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team picked up a 5-0 win over Alverno College. The Eagles also celebrated the careers of seven seniors at halftime on an all-around great night for the program.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles scored twice in the opening half, the first from
Cassidy Kloos, before an own goal gave them a 2-0 advantage at the break. Kloos scored in the 24th minute on a header off a corner kick from
Anna Benitez.
- In the second half,
Kristen Palmer gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead with a score in the 63rd minute.
Aubrey Tarmann started the play with a shot that hit off the post, but Palmer was there for the rebound.

Anja Von Klopp netted an unassisted score in the 84th minute with an impressive sprint up the left side, before finishing in the box. The fifth goal came from
Anna Fischer off a
Cassidy Johnson corner kick.

Grace Wildeboer needed just one save to secure the shutout for the Eagles, who held a decisive 31-2 advantage in shots. Edgewood College finished with a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- At halftime the Eagles celebrated seven outstanding seniors who have made a great impact on the program. This year's senior class consists of:
Shannon Kaufmann,
Olivia De Castro,
Paige Baillies,
Sarah Jenkins,
Cassidy Johnson,
Maddy Solder, and
Ashley Siegel.
