ROCKFORD, Ill. – A second half goal from Zander Hartberg wasn't enough in a 4-1 defeat at Rockford University on Wednesday night. The Edgewood College offense couldn't catch a break as only five of their 15 shots were on goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rockford University (6-11-1, 3-6 NACC) got things going in the 13th minute. The Regents first goal came off a free kick from Carlos Montes.
- The Regents would tack on two more goals before the half, one in the 28th minute and another in the 45th minute from Cruz Marquez.
- Edgewood College (6-11-1, 3-6 NACC) came into the second half determined to score. Hartberg finally found the back of the net for the Eagles, converting missed header from Aeneas Sala from five yards out.
- With just over two minutes remaining in the second half, the Regents tacked on one more goal, this time coming from Caleb Warmbier.
- Despite scoring just once, the Eagles offense was right with the Regents, only being outshot by one (16-15). Sean Surtees, Victor Lombardino, and Eric Armenta each took three shots in the contest.
- Goalkeeper Brandyn Storhoff managed six saves for the Eagles, while Francesco Martincig recorded four saves for the Regents.
