MADISON, Wis. – Shannon Kaufmann scored three goals and added three assists as her nine-point night led the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team to a 7-0 win over Rockford University at Goodman Sports Complex. The win was the second-straight NACC win for the Eagles (4-10-1, 2-5 NACC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kaufmann started the scoring with the first of her three goals just 2:23 into play. She would go on to add an assist and another goal in the first half, leading the Eagles to a 3-0 lead.
Carolyn Evers scored the second goal, off assists from Kaufmann and
Olivia De Castro.
- Kaufmann would gain her hat trick score in the 70th minute, making the score 6-0 at the time. She assisted on the first two scores of the half, goals by
Ashley Siegel and
Maddy Solder.
- The Eagles final tally came off the foot of senior
Cassidy Johnson in the 87th minute. The goal was the second of the season for Johnson.
- Edgewood College dominated possession as Rockford did not attempt one shot in the match. The Eagles ended up with 47 shots, 27 of those on goal.
Grace Wildeboer got the win at keeper for Edgewood College.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The nine-point effort is tied for the 13th-most points in Eagles history for a single match. Jennifer Brabant holds the single-match record with 14 points against Judson on September 11, 1993.
- The seven goals for the Eagles are the second-most in a match this season. Edgewood College scored eight in a win over Eureka, that match also played at Goodman Sports Complex.
