PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Lakeland University Women's Basketball team has just three setbacks in 13 league games this season. Two of those have come against Edgewood College as the Eagles picked up a big NACC win over the Muskies, 72-58, on Thursday night. The win moves the Eagles to 12-7 overall and 9-5 in NACC play this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College was extremely efficient in shooting 58 percent (29-for-50) from the floor. The Eagles shot 60.87 percent (14-for-23) in the opening half in building a 31-23 lead at the break.
- The Eagles pulled away in the third quarter, quickly pushing their lead to 13 points after
Alyssa Lemirande buried a 3-point shot in the early parts of the second half. The Eagles largest lead of the night came with 3:58 left in the game when they went up 18 points after a
Kelly Carpenter layup. Lemirande led the Eagles with 17 points, shooting 7-for-8 from the floor, while adding six rebounds and four assists. Carpenter finished the night with a game-high 11 rebounds.
- A big part of the Eagles win was their ability to dominate the boards, outrebounding the Muskies 42-26. In addition to Carpenter's 11 rebounds,
Lexi Walter added nine rebounds. Carpenter, Walter, and Lemirande all finished with more rebounds than the Muskies top rebounder (Amanda Majewski – 5).
- The Eagles finished with 20 assists in the win, led by
Brooke Lonigro who tallied five. Lemiranded added the four assists while
Diamond Pikulyk and
Maryn Ferron each recorded three.

Abby Shane poured in 16 points for the Eagles, including connecting on three shots from 3-point range. Edgewood College made 6-of-15 from distance, with Ferron adding a couple makes and Lemirande connecting on her only 3-point attempt.
- Pikulyk scored nine points with Ferron and Walter adding eight in what was a very balanced Edgewood College offensive attack.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles picked up their 12th win of the season, surpassing last year's mark of 11. Edgewood College has now won four-straight games, its second such streak of the season. The Eagles began the year with four-straight victories, one of those an 18-point win over Lakeland.
- The ninth conference win of the season also matches last year's team with the Eagles having six more conference contests remaining this season.

- The Eagles will look for their fifth-straight win Saturday night when they visit Alverno for a NACC contest. Edgewood College and Alverno are set for a 7 p.m. start in Milwaukee.
