Walter's double-double guides Eagles in league win at Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Freshmen Lexi Walter posted her first career double-double in leading the Edgewood College Women's Basketball team to a 79-62 win over Marian University Wednesday night. The Eagles had four players finish in double figures in the NACC road win, as Kelly Carpenter, Alyssa Lemirande, and Abby Shane all added 14 points to help pace a balanced attack.

- The second quarter began with a 6-0 Eagles run, quickly pushing their lead to nine. After a Marian basket, Edgewood College posted another 6-0 run and extended its lead to 13. In the second half, Edgewood led comfortably throughout with the Sabres never pulling within single digits.

- It was one of the best offensive performances of the season from the Eagles, who surpassed 70 points for the fourth time, two of those coming in the past four games. Edgewood College shot 48.5 percent (32-for-66) from the floor led by Carpenter who made all seven of her field goal attempts. The Eagles also dished out 24 assists on 32 makes led by Brooke Lonigro who had nine helpers.
