Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Warhawks net late goal to edge Eagles

WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Edgewood College women's soccer team ended the 2017 season with a 4-0 loss to UW-Whitewater. So, the Eagles have to be excited by a strong performance against the Warhawks, but it probably won't erase the sting of the 1-0 loss on Saturday. UWW scored in the 81st minute to deny Edgewood College their first win of the season.

UW-Whitewater (3-1) dominated the second half in terms of possession and shots, but Edgewood College and goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer kept the game scoreless. The Warhawks had 15 shots in the second half, but the sophomore keeper made seven saves to keep the Eagles in it. The Warhawks finally broke through in the 81st minute, when UWW's Elli Wahlberg fed Carli Nehls for the game-winning goal.

Edgewood College (0-2-1) was outshot by the Warhawks 20-5 for the game. Freshman Aubrey Tarmann led the Eagles with three shots, while Mady Warda accounted for the Eagles only shot on goal with a strike in the 16th minute. Grace Wildeboer nearly singlehandedly kept the Eagles in the game by making 10 saves in the game.

Edgewood College will aim for that elusive first win on Wednesday night, when they host UW-Stevens Point at Breese Stevens Field. Kickoff against the Pointers is at 7:00 p.m.
