MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team was limited to ten shots, including five on goal, in a 4-0 defeat at Concordia University Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles were unable to fight back against the Falcons who remain undefeated in NACC play.
Concordia University Wisconsin (5-5, 3-0 NACC) spread their goals throughout the contest, with two coming in each half. The first goal came early in the 9th minute, as Nichole Ciesielczyk scored her first goal of the season. Edgewood College (0-7-1, 0-3 NACC) kept offensive pressure on the Falcons, despite an early deficit. Mari Hubanks responded quickly with a pair of shots just three minutes apart. The senior's first shot would miss high, and second shot was grabbed by Falcon goalkeeper Olivia Kindt.
All four of the Falcons goals were recorded by different players, as Shannon Carroll scored the second goal in the 34th minute from 30 yards out. Isabel Downs recorded the third Falcon goal in the 52nd minute, and with 24 seconds remaining in the match Alexandra Tomich netted her fourth goal of the season.
Although the Eagles were unable to contain the Concordia Wisconsin offense, they never gave up in the contest taking six total shots in the second half. The Eagles recorded a .500 shot on goal percentage, which shows offensive improvement from the previous two competitions.
Edgewood College was outshot 24-10 in the contest. Mari Hubanks recorded a team-high three shots, both Mady Warda and Maddy Solder followed with two shots of their own, and Aubrey Tarmann, Ashley Siegel, and Carolyn Evers each took one shot. Grace Wildeboer recorded six saves in the contest.
