Eagles still in search of first win after loss to Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team has found goals hard to come by and wins even harder in the first two weeks of the season. On Saturday, the Eagles faced another difficult opponent on the road, falling to Lake Forest College 4-1 at Farwell Field. Edgewood College is still looking for their first win of 2018.

Lake Forest College (4-4) opened the scoring in the 19th minute on a header goal by Morgan Henrichs, and led 2-0 at halftime after Kasey Kraus scored in the 37th minute. Edgewood College (0-4-1) managed three shots in the first half, including a shot on goal by Aubrey Tarmann in the 10th minute.

Lake Forest increased their lead to 4-0 with goals by Julia Larson and Henrichs, but the Eagles made sure they wouldn't go home empty handed. Mari Hubanks scored her third goal of the season with a drive in the 79th minute to help the Eagles avoid the shutout.

Edgewood College was outshot by the Foresters 21-7. Hubanks led the team with three shots, two of which were on goal. Tarmann and Radomsky accounted for the Eagles other shots on goal. Edgewood College goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer finished with seven saves.

Edgewood College's next game will be there NACC opener next Wednesday night. The Eagles will meet MSOE at Viets Field in Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
