Late first half run lifts Regents past Eagles

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's basketball team was unable to hold off the strong shooting of Rockford University on Saturday. Despite holding the Regents 3-point shooting to just 10 percent in the second half, the Eagles fell 86-73 in the conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With just under nine minutes remaining in the first half Rockford University went on a 25-16 run and never looked back. The Regents began the second half with a 16 point lead (46-30) and maintained a double digit lead throughout the contest despite an improved 50 percent shooting from Edgewood College.
- The Eagles found success from the free throw line in the second half (62.5%), finishing the contest shooting 55 percent from the line.
- Jake Negus finished with a game-high 23 points tacking on four rebounds. Emil Radisevic scored in double-digits for the Eagles, putting up 12 points and two assists. Radisevic also pulled down a game-high six rebounds.
- Three Eagles dropped their first points in an Eagle uniform, Jaden Lechelt finished with three points, Anthony Janega Jr. came away with two points, and Caleb Holzman dropped a free throw.

THE OPPOSITION
- The Regents finished the contest with five players scoring in double digits. Taylor Krocker led the charge with 15 points, Kevin Diemer finished with 13 points, both Will Adams and Talon Hardin put up 12 points, and Brandon Emerick came away with 11 points.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will return home on Saturday to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College. Action will begin at 4:15 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
