Fourth quarter run lifts Eagles to second-straight win

DUBUQUE, Iowa –  A 15-0 fourth quarter run allowed the Edgewood College Women's Basketball team to pick up its second win in as many days at the Loras Tipoff Classic, this time a 67-57 victory over Beloit College. The Eagles, who are 2-0 this season, received 14 points and six rebounds from Allison Gordon, while Jordyn Kriegl and Brooke Lonigro each posted double-digit scoring efforts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles entered the fourth quarter with a two-point advantage before outscoring the Buccaneers 19-11 over the final 10 minutes to secure the non-conference win. Beloit actually took a 50-48 lead before Edgewood College rallied off 15-straight points, pulling away for good.

- Whereas Edgewood College used the 3-point shot to win the season opener, they relied on the inside game Saturday. The Eagles outscored Beloit 38-26 in the paint. Edgewood College finished the contest shooting just 4-of-18 from 3-point range.

- Gordon had a great all-around game for the Eagles, leading the team in points (14) and rebounds (six). She added three steals in a game which Edgewood College forced Beloit into 22 turnovers. The Eagles finished the contest with 14 steals, Lonigro leading the way with four.

- Lonigro did a great job distributing for the Eagles all game, finishing with six assists. The sophomore also knocked down 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

- Kriegl was extremely efficient in getting 13 points for Edgewood College, shooting 5-of-6 from the floor, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range. Abby Shane added nine points while Maryn Ferron added seven and Alyssa Lemirande six.

THE OPPOSITION
