MADISON, Wis. - In their second to last regular season home game at Breese Stevens Field the Edgewood College men's soccer team shutout Rockford University 2-0. The Eagles put together a solid victory on both sides of the pitch, with 18 different Eagles making an appearance.
Edgewood College's (8-6-2, 3-4-2 NACC) first goal of the night came off the foot of Victor Lombardino in just the 10th minute. The junior converted a cross from Nicholas Bilodeau on the left post, and sent the ball whizzing past the Regents goalkeeper from five yards out. Lombardino's third goal of the season would stand as the only goal in the contest through the first half. The Eagles defense would only allow Rockford University (7-9-2, 2-6-1 NACC) one shot through the first half of competition.
The Eagles tacked on their second goal of the night, with Nicholas Bilodeau netting his third goal of the season in the 64th minute. Zander Hartberg would make a run through the Regents defense, passing the ball to Bilodeau who slid the ball off the left post and into the back right corner of the net. The seniors third goal of the season gave the Eagles a comfortable 2-0 lead with just under 30 minutes remaining in the second half.
Edgewood College would hold onto the victory, outshooting the Regents 16-4 overall. Eight different Eagle players took shots in the contest. Aldon Lumani took a team-high five shots and Jorge Castellanos was right behind him with three shots on the night. Eagle goalkeeper Carson Hughes made one save on the night, while Rockford University goalkeeper Edgar Gomez recorded nine saves.
