MADISON, Wis. – Junior Alisha Nolden scored for the fourth straight match, but it wasn't enough in a 4-1 defeat to Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday night.
Nolden, who leads the team with four goals on the season, turned Hannah Menzia's free kick from near midfield into a bending goal that slipped right past the keeper in the 26th minute. Offensively, Nolden has been on a roll and has scored one goal in each of the last four matches. Nolden and Menzia combined for four of the Eagles' (4-5, 0-2 NACC) six shots, but couldn't overcome a Falcon offense that put 12 of their 15 shots on goal.
The Eagle lead would hold until the Falcons (4-2-2, 3-0 NACC) took advantage of a goalie foul in the box and tied it up on Kayla Schlosser's penalty kick goal less than two minutes in to the second half.
Concordia Wisconsin would put the game away with three unanswered goals in the 65th, 75th, and 87th minutes, respectively. Three different goal scorers found the back of the net for the first time this season and accounted for the Falcons' final three goals.
Despite the loss, Eagle goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer tallied eight saves for the third straight match.
After completing their eight-game homestand, the Eagles play two straight matches on the road starting with Benedictine this Saturday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m.
