STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team was held to just six shots, including four on goal, in 3-0 defeat at UW-Stevens Point on a rainy, wet Sunday afternoon.
In their penultimate non-conference match of the season, the Eagles (7-10) allowed the Pointers to launch 21 shots, including 11 on goal, in defeat. UW-Stevens Point (9-6-2) scored a pair of unassisted goals in the opening 25 minutes to put the Eagles in an early 2-0 hole and finished off the scoring with their final tally in the 63rd.
Eagle goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer tied a career-high with eight saves and now has 80 on the year. Offensively, a quartet of Eagles including Hannah Menzia, Madelyn Peach, Cassidy Johnson, and Ashley Siegel each added one shot on goal.
The Eagles still have a slim chance of qualifying for the NACC tournament and will square off against Marian (4-4 NACC) in their conference finale this Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m.
