Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Offense erupts in rout of Warriors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After their recent struggle offensively, the Edgewood College women's soccer team erupted in a 4-0 rout at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night. Mady Warda scored twice, Alisha Nolden added two assists, while a pair of freshman, Carrie Radomsky and Madelyn Peach, added their first career goals.

It was a dominant performance from the get go as the Eagles (6-8, 2-5 NACC) launched 18 shots, including eight on goal, in their best offensive output of the conference season. Mady Warda scored the first of two straight goals in the 13th minute off a pair of touch passes from Sarah Deininger to Alisha Nolden, who set up Warda perfectly from the middle of the box.

Minutes later, Warda completed her first multi-goal game of the season on a nearly identical play from Lauren Clark to put the Eagles up 2-0 in the 20th minute.

The lead would hold as the Eagles outshot the Warriors (4-10, 2-4 NACC), 13-6, in the first half.

A pair of first-time goal scorers in Radomsky and Peach found the back of the net for the first time in the 61st and 78th-minute marks, respectively, to secure the Eagles highest scoring match since a 7-0 victory over Maranatha Baptist on September 16. Radomsky converted Nolden's second assist from the right side off a forward pass from the middle of the field and Peach took Mariah Walton's assist and chipped a high-arcing rainbow over the Warrior goalkeeper from beyond the 18-yard box.

Prior to tonight's match, the Eagles had scored just five total goals in six conference games. Freshman goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer was brilliant defensively with five saves to secure her fifth shutout of the year.

It doesn't get any easier as the Eagles face off against the NACC leader and unbeaten Dominican (5-0-2 NACC) on the road this Saturday, October 14 at 2:45 p.m.
