MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Emil Radisevic posted his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the Edgewood College men's basketball team lost to Concordia Wisconsin, 84-66, after a late first half run by the Falcons broke open a close game.
It was battle from the get-go until the Falcons (6-6, 5-4 NACC) went on an 11-1 run in the final three minutes of the half to go up 45-34 at the break. Junior Arik Anderson paced the Eagle offense with all 10 of his points in a first half that featured a frantic pace due to a flurry of three-pointers that accounted for nearly half the total shots.
A layup by Radisevic cut the Falcon lead to 11 to open the second half, but that was as close as the Eagles (3-10, 3-5 NACC) came as Concordia Wisconsin took over and comfortably led the rest of the way. The Falcons shot only 38.7 percent in the second half, but kept a steady lead thanks to timely offensive rebounds and an Eagle offense that mustered 32.3 percent in the final period.
Radisevic shot 6-for-9 from the field and notched his second double-double in just 17 minutes. He was the only starter to shoot over 50 percent and was backed up by Tyler Lemke and Spencer Barnes, who each had 10 points. The Eagles shot just 34.4 percent on the game, finished 7-for-27 (25.9 percent) from beyond the arc, and were outscored, 40-22, inside the paint.
The Eagles are now 37-28 all-time against the Falcons, but have lost eight of the last 10 meetings.
Next up is a matchup at Marian this Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. Barnes hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating three-pointer to beat the Sabres, 87-85, in their final meeting last season.
