FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's basketball team came agonizingly close to pulling off another last second victory at Marian University, but this year the Sabres held off the Eagles 72-68. The Eagles shot the ball well enough to win, but were hampered by turnovers in the loss.
Edgewood College (3-11, 3-6 NACC) got off to a great start against the Sabres, making eight of their first 12 shots to race out to an 18-9 lead. However, the Sabres slowly reeled in the Eagles, eventually taking a 27-26 lead on a layup by Alex Manhardt. Marian University (5-9, 4-5 NACC) turned the tide in the second half, using an 18-6 run to open up a 53-40 lead with less than 12 minutes to go. Marian hit one of two free throws, Lemke scored a jumper to being the Eagles within one at 69-68.

Roemer returned to the free throw line and iced the game by making a pair with 10 seconds left.
