MADISON, Wis. – With a 6-0 defeat to North Park, the Edgewood College men's soccer team saw their three-game winning streak snapped in their home opener on Sunday.

After allowing an opening goal in the 18th minute, the Eagles (3-2) trailed just 1-0 at halftime despite getting outshot, 8-3. The Vikings (3-1), picked to finish third in the CCIW, scored two quick goals in the 48th and 51st minutes to put the Eagles in a 3-0 hole and put the game out of reach.

With three shots attempted in the second half, the Eagles couldn't create enough opportunities against a Viking team that launched 24 total shots and received two goals on six shots from their bench. The Vikings' starting forward, Carel Kawele-Kuzona, scored his first two goals of the season in 57 minutes of play.

The Eagles made the most of its six shots, putting four on goal, led by two from Victor Lombardino.

Goalkeeper Ethan Schneider (3-2) recorded six saves, many of them acrobatic in nature, but surrendered six goals in his fifth start of the year.

The Eagles fell to 1-4-1 in the all-time series and last beat North Park in 2009 when the Vikings were ranked no. 8 in the country.
