Eagles win third straight in rout of Sabercats

WATERTOWN, Wis. – Behind five, first-half goals from five different players, the Eagles won their third straight with a convincing 6-2 victory over Maranatha Baptist on Saturday morning.

The dynamic sophomore duo of Garrett Lee and Nicholas Bilodeau got the Eagles (3-1) going early with Lee scoring the first of his two goals off a Bilodeau cross just 56 seconds into the game, followed by a Bilodeau goal from Lee in the third minute. Lee scored the Eagles' sixth and final goal in the 53rd minute and leads the team with five goals this season.

Both Lee and Bilodeau (four goals this season) have fueled an offense that has outcored its opponents, 15-2, during the three-game win streak.

Zander Rothering, Zach Jaske, and Henry Simon rounded out the first half scoring as the Eagles outshot Maranatha Baptist (1-3), 11-5, en route to a 5-0 lead. The Sabercats' Wira Wama, currently a member of the Papa New Guinea national team, added a pair of unassisted goals to prevent the shutout.

Goalkeeper Ethan Schneider (3-1) earned the win and totaled one save while playing the entire first half as Brandyn Storhoff started and played the second half.

It was the Eagles' 24th straight win over the Sabercats as they improved to 31-4 in the all-time series. The game started at 9:00 a.m. due to an upcoming football game in what will be the Eagles' earliest start of the year.
