With the Eagles up a point, the Cougars (3-2, 2-2 NACC) went on a decisive 12-0 run midway through the third quarter and led by as many as 27 in the fourth to put away the Eagles for the second-straight time.
Despite the setback, the Eagles found their groove on offense against a Cougar defense that utilized a full-court press throughout and set season-highs in points (62), shooting percentage (38.3), three-pointers made (5), free throws made (11), and assists (14) in the effort.
Senior Sidney Peach added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including 3-for-3 from deep, and junior Marissa Hoyer scored 13 points after a 4-for-8 performance from the field. Gordon finished 9-of 12 from the field and scored all 22 of her points through the first three quarters. The Mount Horeb, Wis. native was one point off matching her career-high, but saw limited touches in the final period.
Led by guard Courtney Lofink and her near triple-double of 13 points, 11 assists, and nine steals, the Cougars utilized a 39-18 advantage in points off turnovers and a 30-2 edge in fast break points to beat the Eagles for only the fifth time in their 14 matchups.
