MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Led by a season-high 19 points from Adam Freitag and three other double-digit scorers, the Eagles shot a blistering 67.9 percent in the second half to pull away from MSOE, 87-74, in their first win of the season.
Holding a narrow 29-27 lead at the break, the Eagles (1-3, 1-1 NACC) exploded for 58 points on 19 of 28 shooting, including 5-for-9 on threes, in their highest scoring half of the season in their first win over MSOE in the last five meetings. Tyler Westrick, who posted a career-high 17 points on 6-for-10 shooting, paved the way after scoring 13 of the Eagles' 17 points midway through the second half that turned a three-point advantage into a 61-54 lead with 8:24 remaining.
The seven-point margin was the closest the Raiders (1-2, 1-1 NACC) would come the rest of the game despite being in the bonus for the final 11 minutes.
It was the first time this season the Eagles featured four double-digit scorers with starting guard Sy Staver adding 11 points and a game-high six assists and reserve McClain Steffens chipping in a season-high 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting. Forward Tyler Lemke played arguably his best all-around game after setting career-highs with 11 rebounds and five assists, respectively, to go with eight points.
As a team, the Eagles shot 52.6 percent from the field, only the second time they have eclipsed the 50 percent mark since January 21, 2015.
Raider reserve, Greg Pigg, led the Raiders with 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting while starter Collin Seubert registered a 15-point, 10-rebound performance for a Raider team that dropped to 16-51 all-time against the Eagles.
Next up for the Eagles is a home matchup against Concordia Chicago this Saturday, December 3 at 4:15 p.m.
