PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Freshman Aleigha Sigafus posted her first career double-double with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the Eagles' loss at Lakeland University, 79-43, in their NACC opener on Saturday afternoon.
It was tough sledding from the get-go for the Eagles (0-4, 0-1 NACC) as the Muskies raced out to a 21-3 lead after the first quarter, en route to a 40-13 halftime advantage. Sigafus carried the offensive load early with 11 points and seven rebounds on 4-of-6 shooting from the field in the first half. The rest of the Eagles shot 1-for-20 in their second-lowest, first-half total this season.
Freshman MacKenzie Meyers added a career-high 10 points and six rebounds, while Cali Twet, the team's leading scorer, contributed eight points and a team-high three assists.
Led by All-NACC selection, Bailey Grayvold, and her game-high 17 points, the Muskies (2-3, 1-0 NACC) finished with four double-digit scorers and held the Eagles to 26.3 percent shooting on the game. The opportunistic Muskies also scored 35 points on 29 Eagle turnovers.
The Eagles will host Concordia Chicago in their NACC home opener on Saturday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m.
