RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team dropped their conference finale at Dominican, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon and were eliminated from NACC tournament contention.
With their NACC tournament hopes still alive, the Eagles (7-11, 4-6 NACC) couldn't quite get it done against the best team in the conference. Dominican (12-2-2, 9-0 NACC) scored in the second, 56th, and 85th minutes to remain the only undefeated team in conference play and extend their win streak to 12 matches. The Stars eliminated the Eagles from qualifying for the NACC tournament for the second-straight year.
The Eagles have never beaten the Stars in 18 total meetings (0-16-2) and were shut out for the 11th time. They produced seven shots to Dominican's 20 and put two on goal in their second-to-last match of the season.
Freshman Victor Lombardino, who scored his first career goal in 1-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday, led the team with three shots attempted.
The Eagles will face UW-Platteville on the road in their season finale next Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m.
