Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Streak snapped despite Seabrook’s 11 saves

MADISON, Wis. – Despite senior goalkeeper Sabelle Seabrook's season-high 11 saves, the Edgewood College women's soccer team saw their seven-match win streak snapped to MSOE, 3-0, in the battle of unbeaten NACC teams on Wednesday night.

Seabrook was brilliant in a matchup between the Eagles' top-scoring NACC defense against the Raiders (10-3-1, 5-0 NACC) top-scoring NACC offense. As expected, MSOE outshot the Eagles, 20-5, including 9-1 in the first half, in a match where both teams played to their strengths.

MSOE took the early lead on Seabrook and the Eagles (10-3, 5-1 NACC) only evident blemish in the first half. It came on an own goal in the 23rd minute that put an end to 390 scoreless minutes by the Eagle defense.

Down just 1-0 heading into the final period, Seabrook allowed two quick goals in the 70th and 74th minutes. Both goals were tough to defend as one found the back of the net off a deflected save and the other came off a deft pass to set up a one-on-one with Seabrook from five yards out. Sara Travia, who scored her NACC-leading 12th goal, and Caitlin Liddiard were the beneficiaries as they put the game out of reach. The Raiders are now the only unbeaten team in conference play.

The Eagles fourth loss in the last five meetings to the Raiders put a dent in numerous streaks that included an 8-0 home record, a seven-match win streak, and four straight shutouts.

Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Lakeland University this Saturday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m.
