MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Edgewood College came out firing on all cylinders Wednesday night away from home against Wisconsin Lutheran at Neumann Family Fields but allowed four goals in the final 45 minutes to fall to 6-10 overall and 3-6 in the NACC.
Evan Rogaczewski continued his phenomenal goal-scoring ability with another penalty kick goal in the 34th minute to gain the early lead. The PK was his second in as many games and the senior is now tied for the team lead in goals with six after scoring three in the last two matches.
Sophomore Tyger Rothering then pushed in his first goal of his career to give the Eagles a two-goal lead in the 41st minute. Garrett Lee assisted on the goal and Rothering was able to tap it in from two yards out.
The Eagles would head into the locker rooms with the two-goal lead despite being outshot 12-5. Wisconsin Lutheran would then turn up the pressure and fire 15 shots in the second half, four of which found the back of the net.
Matt Schmidt converted first for the Warriors with a strike in the 66th minute and Austin Drake would score his seventh of the year 10 minutes later to even things up.
Jimmy Pierson would knock in the game-winner in the 88th minute off a cross from Drake, and Ryan White would add the fourth with just 45 seconds remaining to put an end to it.
Rogacewski and Jesse Greenwood both recorded three shots on the night while goalkeeper Kyle Wood recorded five saves in the effort.
The Eagles will conclude the 2015 season at home on Saturday for Senior Night against Dominican. The match will begin at 11 am and five Edgewood College seniors will be honored.
