MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College stood toe-to-toe with Dominican University for the first 45 minutes on Saturday. However, the Stars had too much firepower and pulled away for a 5-0 victory on the Eagles' Senior Day. Edgewood College concludes their first season under head coach Derek Helmer with a record 6-11, 3-7 NACC.

The first half was a physical stalemate as the Eagles matched Dominican University's offensive pressure with defensive intensity. Edgewood College's only shot on goal came in the 33rd minute. A contested ball appeared to be heading out of bounds in front of the Dominican University (10-3-3, 6-1-2 NACC) bench, but it's spin kept the ball on the touch line. Garrett Lee took advantage of the momentary confusion to scoop up the ball and go straight in on goal. However, Lee's blast at Stars goalkeeper Wesley Zank was smothered.

Dominican broke the deadlock just 39 seconds into the second half. David Ortega punched a low shot through a crowd and the ball eluded Eagles goalkeeper Kyle Wood for a 1-0 Stars lead. Benjamin Ibarra and Jonathan Arzeta added goals in the 62nd and 72nd minutes, respectively. Wood, for the second straight home game stuffed an opponent's penalty kick, however this time Adam Yaghmour pounced on his own rebound for Dominican's fourth goal in the 79th minute. Jose Becerra concluded the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 85th minute.

Saturday's match marked the last game in the careers of six Eagle seniors: Dane Donnelly, Matt Snider, Evan Rogaczewski, Max Harty, Austin Papenthien and Wood.
