Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late header lifts MSOE over Eagles

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team held down MSOE for 85 minutes, but a break through goal was all the Raiders needed to claim a 1-0 win at Viets Field. MSOE held a large advantage in shots, but Eagle goalkeeper Sabelle Seabrook made a career-high 12 saves to keep the Eagles in the game until the end.

Edgewood College (6-7, 3-4 NACC) only took one shot in the first half, but it was an on-target effort from Emily Skaer, which force a save from MSOE goalkeeper Mary McFee in the seventh minute. MSOE had six shots on goal in the first half, but Seabrook rejected all of them.

Seabrook's save total reached 11 before the MSOE (8-6, 4-2 NACC) tallied the game-winner. Aly Loepfe scored off a header from a cross by Kait Riley in the 86th minute. Edgewood College finished the game with three shots; two on goal from Skaer and another shot from Taylor Pampuch.

Wednesday's match represented the Eagles' final regular season road contest of the year, as Edgewood College plays their last four matches at Breese Stevens Field. The first comes up on Saturday against Lakeland College. The Eagles and the Muskies will kick off at 1:30 p.m.
