ROCKFORD, Ill. - Sophomore forward
Henry Simon just keeps on delivering. Saturday afternoon against Rockford University his clutch play resulted in a 1-0 win and helped the Eagles clinch a spot in the 2014 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament. His goal came just 4 minutes, 10 seconds into overtime and it marked the second-straight game in which Simon ended it in the first extra frame.

If Edgewood College wins its regular season finale against Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday, Oct. 29 the Eagles will secure at least the No. 5 seed. The Eagles can bump up to a No. 4 seed if they win next Wednesday and Aurora University loses its final two games.

Edgewood College peppered Rockford goalkeeper Kyle Adams the entire game, as the Eagles registered 18 shots on the day.
Evan Rogaczewski and
Luke Miller assisted on Simon's winner shortly into overtime. Simon's tally was one of seven shots on the day for the native of Kimberly, Wis., and his sixth of the season. He was also the lone Eagle to record multiple shots on goal in the game with three.

Senior Edgewood College goalkeeper
Matt Dammen stopped one shot en route to his fourth shutout this season and seventh of his career. The Eagles defense was nearly unstoppable in the contest, as Rockford's only shots in the game came in the 29th and 39th minutes.

The Eagles will conclude the regular season Wednesday, Oct. 29 at home against Concordia Wisconsin on Senior Night. The match will take place at Reddan Soccer Park and will begin at 7 pm.
