Eagles finished undefeated in NACC

Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Only one match stood between the Edgewood College women's volleyball team and their first undefeated season since 1996. The Eagles took a 3-0 sweep over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday afternoon, earning an 11-0 mark in the NACC. The win also stretched Edgewood College's regular season conference winning streak to 22 games, dating back to September 11, 2012.

The Eagles (26-4, 11-0 NACC) got out to a fantastic start in the first set, hitting .400 with 15 kills and just three errors. Edgewood College took the set 25-18 and held Wisconsin Lutheran to just a .167 attack percentage. The Eagles extended their lead 2-0 over the Warriors after a 25-21 win in frame two. Edgewood College again held Wisconsin Lutheran (9-22, 5-6 NACC) to a low attack percentage at just .100 with nine kills and five errors.

The Warriors threatened to extend the match in the third set, but the Eagles pulled out a 26-24 victory behind 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .256. For the match, Edgewood College hit an impressive .277 to Wisconsin Lutheran's .132.

Jordan Winkler had a huge match for the Eagles, leading all players with a career-high 20 kills and an attack percentage of .452. The double-double was Winkler's 14th of the season. Four different players posted double-digit digs for the nation's third best digging team with Rachel Tesch's 20 leading the way.

Having locked up the number one seed for the NACC tournament, Edgewood College will have one final non-conference contest before heading into the postseason. The Eagles welcome 21st-ranked UW-Stevens Point to the Edgedome for breast cancer awareness night this coming Tuesday. Live video and live stats will be provided on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
