AURORA, Ill. – Ordinary teams might have a letdown after a big win the previous night, but the Edgewood College volleyball is anything but ordinary. After topping preseason favorite Benedictine on Friday night, the Eagles took care of business with a tidy three-set sweep of Aurora University 25-20, 25-16, 25-18. The Eagles extended their current winning streak to nine straight matches and put themselves within one win of their second consecutive NACC championship.

Edgewood College (22-6, 9-0 NACC) hit better than .200 in each of the three sets, and didn't allow Aurora to hit any higher than .161 in any set. Jordan Winkler led the Eagles with 14 kills against just three errors for an attack percentage of .367. Middle hitter Sarah Schuchhardt added nine kills, while setter Lindsey Swansby had eight kills and a team-high 27 assists. Defensively, Katie Wedvick led the Eagls with three blocks including one solo block, while Samantha Himmelspach collected 14 digs. Jordan Winkler matched a career-high with four service aces.

Aurora University (10-16, 3-6 NACC) was led by Andrea Kappleman who had six kills, while teammate Sarah Olesen added five. Kaite Olsen turned in a match-high 19 digs.

Edgewood College sits just one win from securing their second straight conference title, a feat they've never before accomplished. The Eagles will host MSOE next Wednesday night at the Todd Wehr Edgedome to attempt to claim the crown. With a win over MSOE and another victory in the conference finale at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, the Eagles would secure their first undefeated conference record since 1996.
