MADISON, Wis. – Head coach Paul Schlomer wasn't particularly thrilled with how his team played the first set against Rockford College on Tuesday night. Whatever was said, the Eagles responded with a dominating performance in the final two sets to extend their school record winning streak to 10 straight matches with a 25-21, 25-14, 25-9 victory over the Regents at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Junior Lindsey Swansby recorded her 3,000th career assist in the match.

Edgewood College (17-4, 6-1 NAC) had opened up a 15-10 lead in the first set behind two kills apiece by Mallory Palmer and Jessica Martin. Rockford College (4-15, 1-5 NAC) responded in rare fashion when Laina Scheri delivered five consecutive service aces to tie the match at 15. Ultimately, the Eagles took advantage of a handful of Regent miscues down the stretch and pulled out a 25-21 win on Martin's fourth kill of the set.

The Eagles had a modest 12-9 lead in the second set following a kill from Katie Wedvick, but five straight scoring serves from Sam Himmelspach, including an ace and a pair of kills by Palmer put Edgewood College out in front for good. At 16-9, Swansby delivered a set which Palmer put away for a kill. That assist was the 3,000th of Swansby's career, making her just the third Eagle ever to reach 3,000 career assists. Freshman Jordan Winkler finished off the set with a pair of kills for the Eagles' final two points.

The Eagles found their groove in the third set and overwhelmed the Regents. Swansby six straight points to open up a 9-1 lead and the rout was on. Palmer converted seven kills in the set while Martin added four. 25-9 marked the Eagles' most lopsided set win this season.

Edgewood College hit .436 for the match, which is the third highest attack percentage in school history. The Eagles had their second highest percentage just last Saturday with .442 against Concordia University Chicago. Palmer led all players with 16 kills and no errors in 28 attempts for a single match school record .571 attack percentage (with a minimum of 20 attempts). Katie Wedvick was even more efficient with 11 kills and no errors in 16 attempts for a .688 attack percentage. Swansby finished with 37 assists to bring her career total to 3,015.

Edgewood College takes their 10-match winning streak into a Friday night showdown with Northern Athletics Conference leader Benedictine University (19-2, 6-0 NAC). The key conference match begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Todd Wehr Edgedome with a live video broadcast available on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
