MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Edgewood College volleyball team was able to start their conference season in a way they had not in the last eight seasons: with a win. The Eagles defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College 3-1 in the conference opener tonight.

The Eagles (3-6, 1-0 NAC) took command of the match early as they won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-15. However the Warriors (7-6, 0-1 NAC) did not go away easily as they bounced back to take game three. After the third set loss, Edgewood College came out firing and they were able to put the Warriors away with a 25-18 win in the fourth set. The Eagles were able to put together their best set of the night in the fourth set, as they pounded out 17 kills and hit .238.

Senior Ellie Peckham showed her flexibility tonight as she was able to record her first career triple-double. Peckham led the Eagles in assists with 29, was second in kills with 11 and tallied 11 digs. Mallory Palmer helped Peckham lead the offense as she topped the team in kills for the ninth straight game with 17. Kim Lueck and Carmen Terriquez held down the defense for Edgewood College as they recorded 25 and 18 digs, respectively.
