SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Having already secured their best season since 1998 and their first conference tournament victory since 2003, the Edgewood College women's volleyball team wanted to add some icing to the cake in their Northern Athletics Conference Tournament semifinal match at Lakeland College. Unfortunately, the second-seeded Muskies were able to end the Eagles party with a 3-1 victory.

The Eagles (16-17) fell behind early in the first set, but fought back to tie the match at six apiece. After that point, it was all Muskies (22-12) as they forced an Edgewood College timeout at 10-6 Lakeland. The Eagles scored the first point out of the timeout, but could not sustain the momentum as the Muskies tallied seven of the next nine points to take a commanding 17-8 lead. Lakeland scored eight of the next 15 points as they took the first set 25-15.

Edgewood College turned the tide in the second set after falling behind early. Down 15-10 the Eagles called a timeout. Edgewood College then scored six of the next nine points to take a 20-17 lead and forcing another Muskie timeout. After the score was tied at 12, the Muskies scored 10 of the next 14 points to take a commanding 22-16 lead. The Eagles did not give up, after a timeout down 24-19 they score two straight points to pull within three points. However, it was not enough as Lakeland won the set 25-21 and the match 3-1.
