STEVENS POINT, Wis. - After a three-game winning streak and a strong showing at the UW-Platteville Invitational, the Edgewood College volleyball team was primed to snap their losing streak at the UW-Stevens Point Quadrangular. Unfortunately, the skid was extended to six games at the hands of Beloit and the host Pointers who handed the Eagles a pair of straight sets losses.

In the first match against Beloit College, the Eagles stumbled out of the gate, falling 25-12 in the first set. They would recover to keep the second two sets close, but ultimately drop them by scores of 25-22 and 26-24. Freshman Kristin Manske led the Eagles with nine kills and added 18 digs. Senior Kim Paskey chipped in seven kills. The Eagles were their own worst enemy at times, committing 23 attack errors and hitting just .043 for the match.

Errors continued to plague the Eagles through their second match, as the team accumulated 25 miscues and hit -.022 over three sets. The Pointers claimed all three sets by scores of 25-15, 27-25 and 25-17. Freshman Aryn Wellnitz scored a team-high seven kills, while sophomore libero Kim Lueck collected 14 digs.

Edgewood College will be back in action on Friday and Saturday with four matches at the North Park Invitational in Chicago, Ill. They will open Northern Athletics Conference play next Tuesday against NAC preseason favorite Lakeland College.
