MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Edgewood College volleyball team battled through three tight sets against MSOE, but couldn't escape with a victory falling to the Raiders 28-26, 25-19 and 25-22. The match was the first of three key challenges on the road as the Eagles attempt to make a push into the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament.

The first set was as close as it could be with the Eagles opening the match with a quick 6-1 lead. Edgewood College (5-17, 1-6 NAC) would hold the lead all the way until a 19-19 tie. A kill by Kristin Manske and a service error on the Raiders gave the Eagles two set points at 25-24 and 26-25, but they could not convert either one. A Raider block by Karly Ellwanger and Ashley Brown followed by a kill by Allie Sowinski ended the set.

Both teams struggled through the second set with Edgewood College committing 10 errors and MSOE (13-9, 4-2 NAC) guilty of seven. The third set was played much more crisply as both teams hit well over .300. A kill by Kim Paskey knotted the set at 21 apiece, but three kills for the Raiders and an attack error on the Eagles ended the set and the match.

Paskey led the team with 13 kills against just three errors, finishing the match with a .385 attack percentage. Manske added six kills. Libero Kim Lueck collected 17 digs in the effort while setter Hannah Williams dished out 19 assists.

Edgewood College will continue to look for their first road of the season this weekend when the travel south to face Dominican University on Friday and Concordia University Chicago on Saturday.
