FOND DU LAC, Wis. –The Edgewood College women's volleyball team could not follow their first road win of the season with a second and fell to Marian University 3-1. The Eagles totaled more kills than the Sabres but Marian had 13 blocks to send Edgewood College to defeat by scores of 27-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-20.
Freshman Abbi Schultz turned in a huge match for the Eagles (6-22, 1-10 NAC) with 12 kills and just one error for a .579 attack percentage. Kim Paskey led the team in both kills and digs with 13 and 17, respectively, on the night. Setter Hannah Williams finished with 26 assists, while Kim Lueck had three service aces.
Marian University (8-20, 4-5 NAC) was led by Michelle Zietlow who had 11 kills.
The Eagles will return home for two matches to end the 2008 campaign. They will host Alverno College on Friday night in their Northern Athletics Conference finale, before meeting Beloit College next Tuesday, October 28.
