Connaughty went 4-1 in the opening weekend for Edgewood College women’s tennis. She helped the Eagles to a 3-0 start to the season, clinching a 4-3 match against Cornell College. She opened the weekend with a 6-1 score at No. 1 doubles with partner Evelyn Taylor. She added a 7-6(7-5), 6-1 win at No. 4 singles to help the Eagles to a 7-0 sweep of UW-Stout. Connaughty’s big moment of the weekend was a 1-6, 7-6(7-4), 6-0 win at No. 4 singles to clinch a 4-3 win over Cornell College. She capped off her weekend with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles with partner Hattie Plenty to help the Eagles defeat Buena Vista 7-0.
