Suann Saltzberry was named Athletics Development Officer in June of 2025. Saltzberry will support the Athletics Department through work in the Advancement office at Edgewood University.Â
Saltzberry served as the Director of Athletics from November 2022 to June 2025. With her appointment, Saltzberry was first female director of athletics overseeing all intercollegiate athletics in the Madison area. She was responsible for the oversight of 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs and, as a result, the leadership of administrators, coaches, and approximately 350 student-athletes.
Prior to being named director of athletics, Saltzberry served for many years as Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Saltzberry (formerly Adler) played a vital role in the Eagles leadership team. Saltzberry returned to her alma mater in 2006 when she joined the staff as the Athletic Business Manager and was then promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics in 2011. In the fall of 2008, Saltzberry was named Senior Woman Administrator. Most recently, she was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics, and now serves as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee faculty leader.
As Associate Director of Athletics, Saltzberry was responsible for oversight of assigned sport teams, supervising
the athletic department financials, assisting in the development of the college's strategic plan, and advocating NCAA rules and guidelines throughout the department. With the addition of three new programs (Women's & Men's Lacrosse and Men's Volleyball) in 2019, Saltzberry was instrumental in guiding these programs towards growth and success at the College. She is the primary organizer of the Eagle Golf Outing since 2007 and has raised significant funds in support of Eagles Athletics in her tenure.Â
The additional title of Senior Woman Administrator granted in 2008, has made Saltzberry a key decision maker in the athletic department. In this role, she served as an advocate for the needs and interests of student-athletes within the athletics department. She also has provided programming for student-athletes to engage in diversity dialogue, community service and networking events. Â
Saltzberry has been a member of the following committees at Edgewood College: planning and budget, coordinated community response team, Title IX team, pre-college initiatives, athletic advisory committee, and staff association. In addition, Suann has been a member of the following institutional taskforces: customer relations management, benefits review, dining services, operations budget review, and the presidential inauguration (2014).
Suann is quite active in the larger community, representing Edgewood College by participating as a panelist at the NACDA-CABMA convention in the summer of 2019. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. She also served at the Northern Athletics Conference Chair/Liaison to the NACC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Senior Woman Administrators Committee. Â
In 2009, Suann completed her Master's degree in Business Administration. Saltzberry was a prolific three-sport athlete and a 12-time varsity letter winner in her career at Edgewood College from 2000-04. She played volleyball, basketball and softball. In volleyball, Saltzberry collected 1,897 career digs, good for second place in the Edgewood College record books. Her senior year she established a new single season school record with 794 digs. She was a member of the 2004 softball team which won the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships.
Saltzberry is a resident of Waunakee, Wisconsin and is married to fellow Edgewood College alumnus Matt Saltzberry. Suann and Matt have three children - Ryan, Ruth and Auggie.
