Sam Schaeffer

Sam Schaeffer will be entering her first year as an Assistant Coach for the Edgewood University women’s basketball team with the start of the 2025-26 season. Schaeffer joins the Eagles after a five-year career at the UW-Stout where she was a key member of a Blue Devils squad. During her career, the Blue Devils reached the NCAA Final Four (2025), the NCAA Sweet Sixteen (2024), won the WIAC Tournament (2024), and were regular season WIAC Champions (2023). Individually, Sam earned the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Award, made the All-WIAC Defensive Team, ranked Sixth Nationally in Assist/Turnover Ratio, and secured CSC Academic All-District.

Schaeffer is a graduate of DeForest High School where she was a four-year varsity member of a strong Norskies squad. Sam served as a team captain in 2020, earned Honorable Mention All-Conference (2019 & 2020), and was a two-time Regional Champion (2019 & 2020)

Schaeffer most recently a member of the 2025 WBCA’s “So You Want To Be A Coach” program. She also has experience coaching AAU with Wisconsin Elite (2021-2023) and multiple youth camps for UW-Stout and DeForest
