Al Brisack

As of November 2022 Al Brisack, will serve as the College's Associate VP for Athletic Development.

Brisack served as the Edgewood College Director of Athletics from July 2006 to November 2022.

During his time as director, the Eagles Athletics Department saw great successes, both athletically and academically.

His first two years on the job saw Brisack guide Edgewood College through a conference transition as they moved from the Lake Michigan Conference to a founding member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.  Since that transition, Brisack has overseen significant growth of the department.  The department has gone from a student-athlete population of 150 to over 250.  Edgewood College now boasts a comprehensive sports medicine team and unprecedented stability in head and assistant coaches.  Most recently, the College has added Men's Volleyball, Men's Lacrosse and Women's Lacrosse.  The Department improvements have led to success on the courts and fields as well.  The Eagles have consistently finished in the top half of the NACC All-Sports Awards.

The Eagle Athletics Department has also built and strengthened a number of community partnerships over the last 15 years.  These partnerships have allowed Eagle teams to stabilize consistent practice and game venues.  2020 saw the opening of the Eagles newest venue – The Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium at Reddan Soccer Park.  These partnerships have also led to financial support of the student-athlete experience, at over $150,000 annually. In 2022 Brisack led Edgewood College in acquiring 40 acres of farmland in Fitchburg, Wis. as the future site of a new sports and student wellness complex.

During Brisack’s tenure, the Eagles have certainly reaffirmed their commitment to academic excellence and the community.  Every year, the Edgewood College student-athletes have maintained a cumulative GPA above 3.2 with the 2020 cohort achieving an outstanding 3.4 GPA.  The Eagles have consistently seen over 50% of their student-athletes recognized as Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athletes.  In addition, Eagle teams have annually completed more than 2,000 hours of community service.

Brisack has also served as a member of various NCAA and NACC committees and two terms as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference’s Director of Athletics Chair.

Coach Brisack is married to wife Michele. The couple has been blessed with two beautiful children, Brevin and Victoria.
